Recently concluded 16 days of activism against Gender Based Violence global campaign in Sri Lanka was a partnership effort by NGOs. During the activists campaign the NGOs had organized several activities and event in the country.
SDRO had take part in this campaign and organized a discussion forum between the effected women by Gender based violence and the legal activists in Trincomalee. During this forum, the SDRO had particularly focused sexual violence and harassment against women in Trincomalee district. There is urgent need to take action for increasing awareness among women groups and structured them to advocate violence against women in Trincomalee.
